These are some of the kids at the Hogar where we'll be going

El Salvador

I don't know if I've told everyone yet-that's what happens when you're a loser in the living in books-but Mark and I are going to El Salvador this summer!!!! We are so stinking excited but also a little nervous. We will be living in a little house outside of an orphanage in the mountatins. The orphanage houses over 140 residents ranging from newborns to...well I don't know how old but let's just say they're adults. A lot of them are disabled either physically or mentally and have been abandoned. I am so excited to work with them and make a difference. I truly believe that I won't be helping them so much as the'll be helping me. Isn't that the funny thing about service.....the more you give the more you receive and in turn the happier you are. One of my biggest dreams has always been to travel and see the world and different cultures. It definately will be an adventure. For those of you who don't know El Salvador is a small country in central america about the size of massachusets.

Thank heavens it's over!!!....well for now

The smell of led in pencils, my eyes sore from staring at a computer, a paper cut on my finger from all the pages in the text books, a messy house because of no time, assigned final times of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m, my migraine medicine run out because of all the migraines I've got.......these are all things that I hate and are all a result of FINALS!! WHY HAVE I NOT GRADUATED YET???? i don't freaking know! At least it's over for now :)

I love cousins!

It is so wonderful to have my cousins be my best friends because that means that they're kinda stuck with me. I am very lucky to come from a family where all of us cousins are tight and support one another! We went to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, a play at the Hale Center Theater, and I have NEVER seen a more funny play. I was almost peeing my pants, I really don't know how Laken and Jessi kept it together because they usually pee their pants at the drop of a hat. Only down side was that all the boys seemed to be getting lap dances from the dancers because we were on the front row! I don't know if they tell the actors to pick someone to look at to ease their nerves but please don't pick my husband. One of the funniest parts was that we snuck in a big package of doghnuts in Lakens purse-or really you could call it Barney's bag it was so huge- and we ate them while everybody else was paying 5$ for a little bag of popcorn!! We showed them!
